Climate in the Lake Eyre Basin

The Basin has harsh and variable climatic conditions which are difficult to predict correctly.

It is receives three times less rainfall than the world's average and the evaporation rate is three times more intense so it's not hard todiscern that it is in an arid zone.

The average annual temperature varies from 21oC in the south of the basin to 24oC in the north.
